WORKSHOP

Greiner's professional journey started 1985 in Bonn. 1999 he moved to a spacious Wilhelminien villa from 1893, where most of his early instruments were made. Besides the violin making, many house concerts and gatherings took place in these rooms.

Following a long creative period in Bonn, Greiner now alternates between his workshops in London and Zurich.

Hempstead, where the London workshop is located, has traditionally always been the home to many intellectuals, writers, painters and musicians. The Livingston Studio workshop is located in the former stables of the Burgh House. Built in 1704, the Burgh House is in the centre of the historic part of Hampstead, with its charming village atmosphere and greenery. Livingstone Studio has established itself as an ideal place for violin making -quietly located yet in close proximity to the vibrant town center.

The workshop in Zurich is situated on the garden level of an half-timbered farmhouse, build middle of the 18th century. Far away from any noise of civilisation this place offers the perfect surrounding to concentrate on instrument making.

Surrounded by meadows and fruit trees, 250m above Lake Zurich, visitors can enjoy the fresh air and a glass of spring water from the well in front of the house.

Labels

Printed on 200 year old paper in a historical printing technique, using the letters, which were common in Cremona around 1700, the labels of the Bonn and London period match with the historic look of the instruments.
While the letters of in labels are pressed in the paper, the Zürich labels have embossed letters and a handwritten appearance.
