INSTRUMENTS

" I don't make copies, I make originals. "

Although Greiner’s violins may echo the aesthetic of historic instruments and sometimes recall the character of Guarneri del Gesù, they quietly reveal the hand and sensibility of their maker. His aim is not to imitate, but to let his own understanding of form, sound, and beauty guide the work.

For Peter, the distinction between a copy and an original lies in intention. A copy seeks to honour the details of a chosen model; an original grows from a personal search for expression. In this way, each of Greiner's instrument becomes a quiet meeting of tradition and individuality - shaped by what has been handed down, and by the hand that continues the story.
